Many different types of video games and their backgrounds that will make you get lost in the gaming world
There are many types of video games, and generally, they are categorized by their features or basic objectives - not by the type of game they contain.
Game categories or genres, then, can also have subgenres, and most games equate to many genres!
Sure, it can be confusing, but by breaking the game's mechanics, we can begin to understand how engineers and publishers sort their titles.

First, a little history
The first video games
Naturalist William Higinbotham made the first video game in October 1958. It was a highlight of the Brookhaven National Laboratory Visitor Open House that year.

1. Action Games
Action Games are just that - the games in which the player is in control and in the middle of the action, mostly containing physical challenges that players have to overcome. Many of the first video games like Donkey Kong and Galaga fall into the action category.
Because action games tend to get in easily and start playing, yet, with multiple accounts, it creates the most popular video games.
Types of actions:
Platformer
Platformer Games gets its name from the fact that a game character interacts with platforms (usually running, jumping, or falling) throughout the game. There are many types of platform games; Super Mario Bros. is probably the most popular, and Donkey Kong was the first of its kind.
Fact: Jumping Flash! on the original Sony PlayStation it was the first 3D platform game. Up to that point, all platform games were played “side by side,” and the characters often ran from left to right, in 2D.
Shooter
The shooters let the players use the weapons to perform the action, with the intention of usually removing enemies or opposing players.
Shooters divided by player view:
First person shooters (FPS) are played from the main character view; Call of Duty, Half-Life, and Halo are good examples.
With third-party shooters such as Fortnite and Splatoon, the action takes place in a view where the player can see the main character, usually from top to bottom.
